ROLE
Senior UI UX Designer
As part of GEICO's push into more proactive and embedded insurance UX, I designed a flexible widget system and a series of high-impact App Clips to address the most urgent user needs like checking a bill, finding a gas station, or retrieving a policy without needing to open the full app.
The GEICO App Clips initiative was designed to create lightweight, instant-access experiences that allowed users to interact with key features without downloading the full app.

Discovery
Along with stakeholders, we brainstormed four high-level App Clip concepts:
Quick Quotes: Deliver instant insurance estimates in seconds.
Gas Station Finder: Locate the nearest, most affordable station.
Dealership App Clip: Seamlessly link vehicle purchases to insurance sign-ups.
ERS (Emergency Roadside Services): Provide rapid roadside assistance.
By building on Apple’s App Clips framework—with each clip capped at just 10 MB—we prioritized lean, intuitive designs that load instantly and get users what they need without any friction.

Research + Strategy
Since App Clips were a relatively new technology, we had to define best practices from scratch while leveraging existing consumer behavior insights
We completed a competitive audit based on existing iOS applications that provided each subsection of the variety of app clips, we used the gaps as an area of white space that we could introduce feature wise to the proposed app clips.

Quick Quotes App Clip
The Quick Quotes App Clip helps potential customers get a car insurance estimate in under 30 seconds—without downloading the app or creating an account.
By using location and minimal vehicle input (e.g. ZIP code + car make/model or ID scan), users receive a real-time average of what drivers in their area are paying. It's designed to reduce friction, improve conversion, and act as a lead-in to the full GEICO experience.
